Some people in this world have been blessed with the talent of being able to write great content. If you are one of these people then perhaps you should look into starting your own website or blog. There isn't all that much money to be made by blogging with the exception of a small percentage of bloggers. But should you go down the route of starting your own website or blog then you don't have the issue with revenue sharing that you will encounter with many content farms.
If you have the extra cash to get started and enough knowledge to get by then perhaps look into starting your own content producing website. If you are smart and use websites such as Craigslist or other writing forums to get the word out then some people will be wanting to write content for your site. You can choose the prices and no matter how low odds are somebody will be eager to write content to place on your website or blog.
I have found that college students are usually real willing to produce content or at bare minimum sell you the college papers that they have already written and turned in for grades. It is just sitting there already in their position so why not offer them a couple bucks for some graded written material. This is especially of interest when you are dealing with medical or law students.

Work For Yourself
A main principle that I always try to keep in mind when thinking of new ways to make money is just to do things for yourself. If you look around you won't find too many wealthy people that got that way by working for somebody else. Just stop and think about that for a second. If you are working for somebody else then they are making money off of your time and skill.
That idea is the same whether we are talking about working a regular job or even here online. Rather than writing for some of these websites and making peanuts go out and do it for yourself. Dish out that money to get your own website rolling or even start up a free blog. If you put in the effort you can make money online using free sites such as blogspot. Just do the research and work and it will pay off down the road.
But if you do go about starting your own blog or website my advice would be to try and find a niche topic that has little competition. You can use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool to help you figure out what kind of interest it gets from advertisers. If you go to Google and type in something like making money then you may get a billion search results. But there are specific topics that you could search for and find 80,000 search results and those are the kind of topics you want in my opinion. I would rather be on the first page of Google for a small topic than the ninth page of Google for a bigger topic.

Regardless of if they are eligible for upfront pay you are allowed to post them and get $1.50 for every 1000 views of your content. If you write good articles that rack up views you can make some money fast this way.
The best thing about that method is that its a good way to earn some extra money in your spare time and even if you quit writing you will still have money coming in from the views of the articles.
